We plan to roll out various Lean Manufacturing courses (5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen) at our CA, FL, and MA production facilities to enhance our competitiveness. Each of these sites has approximately 400 workers. We are in the process of receiving vendor quotes and we anticipate the vendor costs to be approximately $100k per plant. We'll also be supplementing the vendor training with internal instructors. The training will extend to most of our workers at these sites including production, maintenance, supervisory, engineering and management personnel. In addition, we are having problems with machine downtime and need to send our maintenance staff to specialized training to address this issue.
